Woodwind Yachts Antique and Classic Wooden Boat Restoration, Repair, Refinishing, Building and Sales

Woodwind Yachts NEW Nomad Project continues

After the completed hull is lifted off the mould and all the copper nails are clenched, the interior is sanded and 7 coats of varnish are applied.

Deck framework and decks are then built, sealed and installed.

Arn is carefully fitting and installing the new tongue and groove cedar decks.

The forward deck, bridge deck and aft deck are all sanded and ready for varnish.

The cedar-planked decks with mahogany covering boards are truly elegant after 7 coats of varnish.

Just a few hours after completion, she is shown off for the first time at the Trent/Severn Antique and Classic Boat Show in Peterborough, Ontario in early July, 2004.

This beautiful vessel, along with her "new" 1958 - 35 H.P. Johnson was featured at the Clayton N.Y. Antique Boat Show, August 5 - 8, 2004 and again at the Huntsville, Ont., Antique Boat Show, August 21, 2004.

I have chosen a 1958 - 35 H.P. Johnson electric start motor to propel Nomad #1, which has been beautifully reconditioned and repainted. We have several 1957 & 1958 motors to choose from should you want a vintage motor powering your Nomad.

This view of the helmsman's position shows the beautifully varnished coaming and dash, and the restored Peterborough steering wheel.

In the water for the first time! The older style Peterborough two piece safety glass windshield greatly enhances the vessel's overall appearance rather than the one piece plexiglass windshield.

Truly a beautiful sight in the water, and not a drop in the bilge. Our new Peterborough Nomads will surely be the most attractive, best built, best performing cedarstrip runabouts to be found anywhere today.

Beautifully finished "NOMAD" by Woodwind Yachts

As we are presently capable of building only 5 of these superior runabouts annually, I suggest, if interested, to order your's soon.

We are set up and ready to display one of our new "Nomads" at the 2009 Gravenhurst Antique and Classic Boat Show. This vessel is powered by a brand new 50 H.P. Honda 4 stroke outboard motor.

Throughout the day she is admired by hundreds of visitors to the show, and receives rave reviews from one and all!

"Another of our beautiful new Nomads on display at the 2012 Newcastle Wooden Boat Show."

Our NEW 15' Peterborough Nomad Runabouts are currently featured in Wooden Boat Magazine's 2014 'small boats' publication.
